HELLO. I'M RICHARD AGER. WELCOME TO NH OUTLOOK. 8 YEARS AGO, A CONSERVATIVE PRESIDENT AND LIBERAL SENATOR FOUND COMMON GROUND TO REFORM EDUCATION. IT BECAME KNOWN AS NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND, AND WHILE IT PROMISED TO INSTILL NEW DISCIPLINE IN SOME SCHOOLS, OTHERS CAME TO BELIEVE ITS RULES WERE UNREALISTIC AND STIFLED CREATIVITY. NOW, A DIFFERENT PRESIDENT AND CONGRESS ARE TALKING ABOUT CHANGING THE RULES. WE'LL DISCUSS THOSE PROPOSALS IN A FEW MINUTES BUT FIRST - A REMINDER OF THE ORIGINAL INTENT OF NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND. |
